The Roles of Realistic Goals and Persistence in Achieving Success

To increase the likelihood of success,one should set realistic goals and work persistently towards them.Setting realistic goals ensures that our aspirations are attainable, while persistence helps us stay on track despite inevitable challenges  

For one thing,realistic goals are crucial because they are grounded in our current abilities,resources and circumstances  For instance,when a student decides to improve his grades, setting a goal of ten points increase on average in the next  semester is more feasible than an aim of straight A's.A goal that is too ambitious might lead to discouragement if it is unmet,while one that is realistic offers a sense of accomplishment and progress.For another,persistence is key to overcoming setbacks and maintaining motivation.The path to success is often not a smooth one;there will be obstacles  and moments of doubt.Take the story of Thomas Edison for example.He failed thousands of times before inventing the  light bulb,but his persistence eventually bore the fruit of groundbreaking success.

In conclusion,setting realistic goals and persistence form the backbone of success.By achieving our goals step by step and working persistently,we can build confidence in overcoming obstacles and eventually achieve greater success.

为了增加成功的可能性，一个人应该设定现实的目标，并坚持不懈地为之努力。设定现实的目标确保我们的抱负是可实现的，而坚持不懈帮助我们在不可避免的挑战中不脱离正确轨道。
