It seems that newspapers are more popular, for they are much cheaper than magazines.Besides, newspaper is a fast and convenient way to learn what is happening around the world.

看起来好像是报纸更受欢迎,因为报纸比杂志便宜。此外,报纸是了解世界时事的一种快速方便的途径。

I cannot see the possibility that traditional newspapers will disappear, which is not only an irreplaceable means of spreading news but also a way to enrich our daily life. As we all know, one piece of newspaper contains many sections. For example, there are some specific columns in which you will read excellent articles.

我觉得传统报纸不可能会消失,报纸不仅是传播新闻不可替代的方式,而且还是丰富我们日常生活的方式。众所周知,一张报纸包含了很多部分,例如,你能在专栏里看到很精彩的文章。

 

7、What's your reading habit?

你有什么样的阅读习惯?

 

During workdays I usually get the latest news from the Internet as soon as possible in the moming, and then if possible after dinner I will look through some newspapers. And I prefer reading a magazine named Digest, which is a collection of many short yet good articles.在工作日时,早上我会快速从网络上浏览最新的新闻,如果可能的话,我会在晚饭后浏览一些报纸。而我喜欢看一本叫《文摘》的杂志,那是很多优秀短文的合集。

 

8、What do you think of the future of the newspapers and magazines?

你觉得报纸和杂志的前景如何?

 

I’ve never thought about this question before, and I cannot imagine the future of newspapers and magazines. But there is one point I have noticed, that is, there are more and more advertisements on these two media.

我以前从没想过这个问题,我不能想象报纸和杂志的前景。但是我注意到一点就是,现在有越来越多的广告登在这两种媒体上了。

现在什么样的杂志受欢迎?

 

Magazines on entertainments sell well, for the teenagers are keen on reading reports about the pop singers and film stars. In addition, I figure magazines about dressing and making up are popular, because more and more people begin to pay attention to their appearances, and reading magazines is a convenient way to learn something on this.

娱乐杂志卖得很好,因为青年人痴迷于歌星和电影明星的报道。另外,我发现服饰和化妆杂志也很流行,因为越来越多的人开始注意他们的外表,而看杂志是学习这些的方便的途径。

My cousin is a senior high student and he always buys a magazine called Forum of Fashion, which contains reports on the latest pop concerts, the hottest stars, the best selling CDs and so on. It is said many of his classmates buy similar magazines and they often exchange the information from those magazines.

我表弟是一个高中生,他总会买一本叫《时尚论坛》的杂志,那里有最新的流行音乐会、最热的明星、最畅销的CD等。而且听说他的很多同学都会买类似的杂志,他们还会从那些杂志中交换信息。

 

11、What books are popular among young people in China?

现在哪些书最受中国年轻人的欢迎?

 

Generally speaking, some traditional Chinese books have great influences on the teenager, such as ancient poems and lyrics. Nowadays, some books become popular mainly due to the publicity of advertisement. The best-seller Who Moved My Cheese is a good example.

一般来说,一些传统的中国书籍对青少年有很深的影响,例如古代诗词。现在,一些书变得受欢迎,主要归功于广告的宣传。畅销书《谁动了我的奶酪》就是很好的例子。

 

12、Can the media criticize government?

媒体能指责政府吗?

 

The media should have the freedom to criticize government because no governments in the world can be perfect. The media is the outlet that citizens demonstrate their own ideas and those opinions sometimes might be helpful to the improvement of government.However, there're many restrictions on the newspaper reports. The negative news which are too revealing are not allowed to publish lest they would cause citizens' anger or fear,which might affect the stability of the nation.

媒体应该有自由对政府的行为作出评论,因为这个世界上没有一个政府是完美的。媒体代表民意,传达市民的想法,这些想法可能会完善政府职能。然而报纸报道也受到很多限制。那些负面消息通常被禁播,因为怕引起公众的愤怒,从而影响整个国家的稳定。

 

13、Do you think newspapers will lose many readers in the future? Why?

你觉得将来报纸的读者会越来越少吗?为什么?

 

I don't think so. Newspapers always attract readers by their timely report and featured information. I know many people would like to surf the Internet to obtain information. But it can't be done at any place or any time; besides, a computer is needed to do that.

Newspaper is much more convenient and economic. I believe it'll still be a popular media for readers in the future.

我不这样认为。报纸最吸引人的地方就是它的及时性和专题特写的信息。我知道很多人上网查询信息,但这个不能在任何时间任何地方操作。此外,上网需要电脑。报纸更方便、更便宜。我相信将来报纸一定照样流行。

 

14、What's the importance of newspapers in people's life?

在人们生活中报纸起到什么作用?

 

Newspapers provide people with timely information and entertaining stories. I know most people would at least read one newspaper everyday, especially the people living in the cities. They can get the latest information about shopping, recent events, or even some knowledge about jobs or life. It's newspapers that keep them updated with the fast tempo of the life. To many people, newspapers have become an inadequate part of their lives.报纸给人们提供及时的信息和娱乐。我知道很多人每天都会阅读报纸,尤其是居住在城市的人们,他们能够得到购物消息、最近发生的事情,甚至有关工作生活方面的知识。是报纸让他们更跟紧时代的步伐。对很多人来说,报纸是他们生活当中不可缺少的一部分。

 

15、Through what ways do people get information?

人们通过哪些渠道得到信息?

 

People usually get information through various types of media. The most frequently utilized means are newspapers and magazines. Young people might use Internet more to search information, which is faster and more convenient with categorized information. TV is also an audio-visual media, bringing information to people of all ages.

人们通常通过各种途径得到信息,最常用的渠道就是报纸和杂志。年轻人更喜欢上网搜寻信息,各类信息来得也很快捷。电视同样是很好的可视的媒体渠道,它给各年龄层的人们带来各种信息。

 

16、Can Internet replace newspapers and magazines?

互联网能够取代报纸和杂志吗?

 

I don't think Internet will replace newspapers and magazines. People have to use certain facilities to get on Internet. Even though people can use mobile phones to get line, it costs much money. Newspapers and magazines are always easy to obtain and people can read them anytime anywhere. This convenience can never be competed by Internet.

我觉得互联网不会取代报纸和杂志。人们要用一定的设备来上网,尽管人们可以用移动电话来上网,但那样很费钱。报纸和杂志非常容易得到,而且人们可以在任何时间任何地方阅读。

这种方便是互联网无法企及的。
