1、Why are objects carried generation by generation?

为什么物品会代代相传?

 

They are the reminder of ancient time. When the young generation sees the objects, they can get a vivid understanding of the history and lifestyle of their predecessors.

它们是用来回忆过去的东西。当年轻的一代看到那些东西时,他们就会对前辈的历史和生活方式有生动的理解。

 

2、Do you think young people are going to keep the things inherited?

你觉得年轻人会继承这些东西吗?

 

Sure. Young people also care about their origin and they want to have a root or trace in history, and these objects are the best witnesses.

当然,年轻人也会关心他们的出身,他们也想要有根有据的历史。而这些物品是最好的证物。

 

3、What's the value of the photos and those ancient objects kept in museums?

保留在博物馆里的文物和照片有什么价值?

 

These objects are the symbol of history events, and present a vivid ancient time in front of me. Modern people can get to know about their past and history. They will be amazed by the technique or simple lifestyle of ancient time and know about the evolution of human society.

这些文物是历史事件的象征,给我呈现了生动的古代。现代人能知道他们的过去和历史。他们会因古代的科技或简单的生活方式感到惊讶,并且还能知道人类社会的进化过程。

 

4、What do you think of the role of museums?

你认为博物馆的作用是什么?

Frankly speaking, I don't go to museums very often. I think museums are places where we can see many collections. They tell us the history vividly. Some museums are used to be the education bases of primary schools.

坦白地说,我不是经常去博物馆,在博物馆我们可以看到很多收藏品,它们生动地告诉我们历史上发生的事。有些博物馆也是小学的教育基地。

 

5、What gifts did you ever send to your friends?

你送给过朋友什么礼物?

 

I often sent books as gifts to my friends. Sometimes I sent CD or DVD to the friends who like listening to music or watching movies. I think these gifts can be kept for a long time.

我总是送书给我朋友作为礼物,有时我也送那些喜欢音乐或喜欢看电影的朋友CD或DVD。我觉得这些礼物可以保存很久。

 

6、Do you like sending computers or TV, such things to your friends?

你会送计算机或者电视这样的东西给朋友吗?

 

No, of course not. I am a student and don't earn money. I don't think it is good to send expensive gifts to the friends. Gifts are the representation of friendship. As long as you have sincere wishes and regards, it doesn't matter what objects you send.

不,当然不会,我只是个学生,而且还没挣钱呢。我不认为非要送一些贵的东西给朋友。礼物是友谊的象征,只要你有这份真诚的祝愿和关心,不管你送什么都没关系。

 

7、What are the differences between Westerners and Chinese in sending gifts?

西方人和中国人在送礼物上有什么不同?

 

I don't think there are many differences between Westerners and Chinese. People send gifts on some special occasions or to express appreciations. But I think Westerners seldom send food as gifts, except wine or chocolate. And Chinese always unpack the gifts after the guests leave, which is different from Westerners.

我觉得中国人与西方人在送礼物这方面并没有多大的区别,人们在特殊的日子里或为了表达敬意才送礼物。但是我觉得西方人很少送吃的东西,除了酒和巧克力以外。中国人喜欢在客人离开之后才打开礼物,这跟西方人的做法不太一样。

 

8、Are there any special gifts in China?

在中国有什么特殊的礼物吗?

On Spring Festival Eve, parents will send their children lucky money with the wish that the children would grow up healthily and happily in the next year. In some rural areas in China,people send boiled eggs painted in red when a baby is born.

除夕之夜,父母会给孩子们压岁钱,希望孩子们在来年能够健康快乐地成长。在中国一些农村地区,当有新婴儿出生的时候,人们会送红鸡蛋。

 

9、What things can pass from one generation to another?

什么东西能一代一代传下去?

I think the things which have special meanings are usually cherished and passed down.l have a pocket watch, which was passed from my grandfather. It always reminds me of the happy days when we lived together.

我觉得那些有特殊含义的东西总是会被珍惜和遗留下来的。我有个怀表,是我爷爷留给我的,它总能使我想起和爷爷在一起的快乐的时光。

 

10、What values do think the old pictures and old things in the museums have?

博物馆里一些老照片等古老的东西有什么价值吗?

 

I think they are very valued. They represent the spirit of one era. They remind the people of the old days.

我觉得它们非常有价值,它们象征着一个时期的精神,它们使人们想起了过去的日子。
