Dialogue One
Maria: Hello! May I speak to Emily, please?
Emily: 1
Maria: Hi, Emily. This is Maria. Next Sunday is my mother's birthday. I want to buy her a present. Would you like to go shopping with me?
Emily: Yes, I'd like to. But do you know what your mother likes?
Maria: Of course I know. She likes a woolen sweater.
Emily: 2
Maria: She likes dark blue.
Emily:Then where shall we buy the dark blue sweater?
Maria: Let's go to Renmin Street. There are a lot of big shops there.
Emily: Is it far from here?
Maria: Yes. It's about three kilometers away. 3
Emily:Which bus shall we take?
Maria: The No. 8 bus will take us there.
Emily: 4
Maria: Let meet at 2:30 this afternoon at the No. 8 bus stop.
Emily: OK. See you there at 2:30 this afternoon.
Maria: See you later!

Dialogue Two
A:Oh,what happened to you?

A: But I think it is serious enough for you to be in hospital.
B:Oh,I just injured my arms.
A:Well, 6
B:This morning I was walking down the street near our factory when I found a house on fire. The door, the windows and everything in the house were burning. People stood in front of the house not knowing what to do. The hot air and heavy smoke kept them out,but I heard someone crying inside in a weak voice.
A:What did you do then?
B:I got myself all wet with some water and rushed into the house.
A:Did you get anyone out?
B: Yes. 7 She was then given a first aid. When the fire was put out, I found my arms injured.

Dialogue Three
Police: Miss Snow, can you tell me what happened to you yesterday evening?
Miss Snow:I was attacked.
Police: Now, what do you remember about the attack?
Miss Snow:Well,I was so busy the whole day yesterday that I couldn't stop my job for a break until I finished it very late in the evening.

Police: Did you go back then?
Miss Snow: Yes, I quickly returned to my office. At the door I was about to take out my key from my purse when suddenly someone from behind hit me on the head.
Police: Did you see the person clearly at that moment?
Miss Snow: No, 10
Police: OK. Thank you Miss Snow, please take care!
