A:Well,there're three persons in my family,my parents and me.

A: My father is a doctor. He is a workaholic. Actually, he is not only strict with me but also cares about me.

Tips:

be strict with表示“对某人严格”；care about sb.表示“关心，在乎某人”。

 

你的母亲是做什么工作的？请描述她的个性

Q: What's your mother? Describe her personality

A : Well , my mom works for a school . In fact , she takes charge in the account business of the school. She is very kind and patient

Tips:

in fact表示“事实上”，相当于actually;take charge in表示“负责，管理”，相当于be in charge of。

 

你比较喜欢你的爸爸还是你的妈妈，为什么

Q: Who do you like the most, your father or your mother? Why?

A : Actually , I love them both . But my mother is more careful and patient than my father .Tips:

careful and patient表示“细心和耐心的”。

 

家庭教育是否是很重要

Q: Is family education important?

A : Well , it will make a deep influence on the children , and even when they grow up .That's why parents should pay more attention to them.

Tips:

make a deep influence on表示“在……上有深远的影响”；pay more attention to表示“对……更关注”。

 

父母是孩子最好的老师，你是否同意此观点，请说明原因

Q: Parents are the best teachers, do you agree or disagree? Why?

A: Absolutely, It is said that most of children have the same habits as their parents.

 

抚养一个孩子最好的办法是什么

Q: What is the best way to raise a child?

A: It's hard to say what the best way is, but I think love is a good cure to teach children.

Tips:

cure做名词时，表示“方法”。

 

当父母变老，并且与子女一起生活有困难的时候就会住进养老院。你认为这合理吗？在你的国家里这种状况是否普遍

Q: When the parents get old, most of them are sent to the rest house or nursing homes, as they have problems living together with their children. Do you think that it is reasona-ble? Is it common in your country?

A: Well, I think it's reasonable. You know, professional nurses can take good care of the elderly persons. So it can set the children's heart at rest.

Tips:

set the chidren's heart at rest表示“可以让孩子们放心”。

 

孩子们是否应该在成年后单独居住

Q: Should children live independently after they have become adults?

A: Actually, it's a good idea. Coz adults often desire to have the space of their own.

Certainly, it's also important for them to keep in touch with their parents.

Tips:

desire to表示“想要，渴望”；keep in touch with表示“与……保持联系”。

 

在你居住的城市或国家，老年人享有怎样的社会福利

Q : What kind of social welfare is available for elderly citizens in your city / country ?

A: A lot, actually. First of all, they can take pensions; secondly, each public facility is nearly for free; last but not least, the medical treatment is free of charge.

Tips

fist of all表示“首先”；last but not least表示“最后”；for free表示“免费”。

 

父母是否应该体罚孩子

Q: Should parents punish children physically?

A: I'm against the way, coz children will suffer from an incurable pain psychologically

Tips:

be against表示“反对”。

 

照顾老年人最好的方法是什么

Q : What is the best way to take care of the elderly ?

A: I think it is a pretty good way to send them to nursing houses, if they don't oppose,coz not only can the children work on but also they will have a considerate care from professionals

Tips:

nursing house表示“敬老院”；not only放在句首时需用倒装语序，所以can的位置提到了the children的前面。

 

你对离婚的看法及是否会对孩子产生影响

Q: What is your opinion on the concept of divorce? Does it affect the children?

A: It's a disaster, especially to innocent children. As we all know, children need a com-plete and happy family. Divorce will break up their happiness. I'm against divorce.

Tips:

disaster表示“灾难”；innocent表示“无辜的，清白的”；breakup表示“打破，破碎”。

 

二、家庭规模

 

你对家庭生活是否满意，你是否想改变它

Q: Are you satisfied with your family life? Would you ever want to change it?

A: Sure. I'm so happy to live in such a warm family. I live with my parents. They take good care of my life and vice versa. Actually I don't think it's better to change a bit.Tips:

take care of表示“照顾，照看”，相当于look after。

 

你是居住在小家庭还是大家庭，你更喜欢哪一种

Q: Do you live in a small family or a big family? Which one do you like?

A: I'm still living in a small one. Also it's my taste, coz I like to have more private space and I'm not good at getting along well with someone else.

Tips

private space表示“私人空间”；get along well with sb.表示“与某人相处得好”。

 

你愿意住在城市还是乡村及原因

Q: Would you prefer to live in a city or a village? Why?

A : I just graduated and to hunt for a job matters to me . It is out of the question for me to live in the place where there is less job opportunity. So I believe that it is my sensible choice to live in big cities.

Tips:

hunt for = look for,表示“寻找”；out of the question表示“不可能”，而形式相近的out of question则表示“没问题”。

 

三、家庭财产

 

你是否买过很昂贵的东西

Q:Do you own something that was expensive to buy?

A: I'm crazy about basketball, and I'm a Jordan fan. The most expensive I' ve bought is

a pair of Jordan Air VII Shoes . It cost me 1 , 480 yuan .

Tips:

be crazy about=be partial to,表示“很喜欢……”；cast表示“花多少钱”。

 

你们国家的人是否经常买昂贵的东西

Q: Do people in your country often buy expensive items?

A: I don't think so, coz thrift is time-honored virtue in China. Of course, I don't mean it's bad to hit something expensive. To be honest, it's a good way to stimulate the development of luxuries.

Tips:

thrift表示“勤俭，节约”；stimulate表示“刺激”；development of luxuries表示“奢侈品的发展”。

 

你是否曾经收到过一些特别的礼物

Q:Do you own something as a special gift to you?

A : I've received a painting from my friend , who's lived in Canada . It's the first artwork he made himself.

Tips:

artwork表示“艺术品”。

 

你是否收到过古老的东西

Q:Do you own any items that are very old?

A: I' ve got a lot of medals printed Chairman Mao in China. It's said that they're so yal-uable.

Tips:

medals printed Chairman Mao表示“毛主席像章”。

 

财产对你有多重要

Q:How important are possessions to you?

A:They're really important,but on some special occasions like fire,I don't think any-thing is more important than life.

Tips:

on some special occasions表示在很多特别的场合

 

四、家务

 

在家里谁做家务

Q: Who does the housework in your family?

A: My parents share with all the housework. I'll help them after I finish my homework.你认为哪种家务最重要

Q:Do you think which kind of housework is the most important?

A:Actually it's hard to say what's more important than something else.I guess washing dishes and cleaning toilet are equally important.

Tips:

equally important表示“同等重要”。

 

五、电话

 

在你居住的国家，人们是否都有电话

Q:Do most people in your country have telephone?

A: Yes, of course. Telephone is so popular in China. Or say, we can't live without it.

Tips:

or say表示“或者可以说”。

 

你们是否经常使用电话

Q:How often do you use telephones?

A: Sure. Almost everyday I talk with my relatives and friends over the phone. Mind you,

I think it's a great device.

Tips:

almost everyday表示“儿乎每天”；device表示“发明”。

Q: Who does most often use phone in your home?

A: I guess it's me, coz I need to talk about my homework with my classmates, and some-times with my relatives. You know, my sister is studying in Austria.

Tips:

ta about表示“和某人谈某事”。

 

手机在你的国家是否普遍

Q: Are mobile phones common in your country?

A: Absolutely, especially young people like it so much. They' re not only a communica-tions device, but also something"in".

Tips:

in表示“某事物很流行，很时髦”。

 

人们都是出于什么原因使用手机

Q: For what reasons do people use mobile phones?

A: It depends. Some use it for cor communication with relatives and friends; some are for showing off their wealth. There're a lot of expensive cellular phones. It's at least 50,000 yuan.

Tips:

use sth. for “把什么东西用作……”；show off表示“炫耀”。

 

是否有一些地方不应该使用手机

Q: Are there places where mobile phones shouldn't be used?

A: Yes, of course. I don't think they can be used in hospitals, test rooms and aircraft.

Tips:

aircraft表示“飞机”。

 

六、零用钱

 

你是如何使用零花钱的

Q:How do you deal with your pin money?

A: You know, I save them up first, and then buy something I want, like Jordan Air Shoes or something else.

Tips:

save up表示“存钱”；buy sth.I want表示“买些我想要的东西”。

 

在家里谁给你零用钱

Q: Who give you the pin money in your family?

A: My parents used to give me some, but today I work as a part-time bar staff at week-ends. So I can earn money on my own.

Tips:

work as表示“工作性质”；at weekends表示“在周末”。

 

七、邻居

描述一下你的邻居

Q : What are your neighbors like ?

A: They're pretty nice, actually. You know, I live with my parents in a military commu-nity , where most are soldiers or officials . So , we're so close .

Tips:

military community表示“军事区”；where表示延续这个地点的话题。

 

你是否喜欢周围的环境

Q:Do you like the surrounding area?

A: Sure. There're several gardens and a lot of facilities like supermarket, fitness center and medical center. I think it's suitable for working and living.

Tips:

facilities表示“设备，设施”；be suitable for表示“适合……”。

 

你住在那里多久了

Q:How long have you lived there?

A : I have been living there since I was born , but I have moved three times in the commu-nity

Tips:

I have been living there since I was born.表示“自从我出生就住在那里”，这里用的是 have been living,而不是 have lived,表示不仅以前住在这儿，以后也住在这儿。

 

你如何看待你住的地方

Q: What do you think of the area in which you live?

A: It's a lovely place. It's got a complete facility and nice neighbors. I'm so lucky to live there .

Tips:

be so lucky to表示“能做某事很幸运”。
